About the event

Join Sam Martin, Reserve Officer for Winnall Moors nature reserve, on a guided walk to discover the lush wildflower rich watermeadows buzzing with insect life and learn how they are managed for the wealth of wildlife to be found there, On our route we may spot roe deer in the meadows, colourful dragonflies and damselflies along the bank of the beautiful river Itchen with a glimpse of kingfishers, whilst listening to the sounds of birds such as reed, sedge and Cetti's warblers in the reed beds.  If we are lucky we might hear the "plop" sound of a water vole entering the water. A wonderful wildlife haven all within a very short distance from the busy centre of Winchester.
