Wildlife Watch Leader

Location: Testwood Lakes Education Centre

Times/days we’d like you to be available: Every last Saturday of the month

Purpose of role:

• To facilitate regular sessions/activities for children aged 5-11 and their parents/carers, encouraging them to learn and care about the natural world.
• To promote membership of the Wildlife Trust and wildlife conservation.

Responsibilities involved in this role:

• Organising regular events, suitable for children aged 5-11 years.
• Providing advance notice of events to Trust staff.
• Taking responsibility for risk assessments, health and safety and safeguarding during sessions.
• Keeping and filing registers of attendance, complying with current GDPR policy.
• Organising /preparing resources/equipment for each session.

Skills and abilities needed:

• Ability to communicate with children, parents and other volunteers.
• Organisational skills to manage paperwork.
• Some knowledge of wildlife and an enthusiasm to learn more.
• Versatility to cope with weather and other unpredictable elements.
• Enthusiastic leader.
