Himalayan balsam pull volunteer

Location:
New Forest National Park, Hampshire
Help is needed to stop the spread of the non-native plant called Himalayan balsam which is invading river banks in the New Forest area, threatening our native wildlife.

Luckily Himalayan Balsam has short roots and is easy to pull up so balsam pulling is very satisfying and can be great fun. If you have some time to spare this summer, enjoy being outside in the company of like-minded people and want to make a difference to the environment, come and join our friendly volunteers. For a list of volunteer work parties to pull Himalayan balsam please contact Catherine Chatters on Catherine.Chatters@hiwwt.org.uk or 07770 923315.

There are multiple Balsam Pulling events during the summer, which will start again in May 2019.
