Commitment: Monthly
Purpose of role: Support the Advocacy and Engagement team in the delivery of youth engagement activities and Wilder School activities on the island.
Tasks involved: Supporting staff in the delivery and supervision of education and engagement events aimed at children and young people, ranging from practical conservation activities in reserves to curriculum based activities within school grounds.
Skills and abilities needed: Essential: enthusiasm and willingness to work outdoors in all weathers, a passion for local wildlife. Desirable: experience working or volunteering with children and young people, knowledge of the wildlife and habitats of the Isle of Wight.
Special considerations: Our sites are not easily accessible by public transport so having your own transport would be beneficial, a DBS check is required for post. Safeguarding and Health and Safety training will be provided during induction.
