We can confirm that a fire occurred Sunday 23 August at Emer Bog and Baddesley Common Nature Reserve. Thanks to the swift response of emergency responders, the fire has now been extinguished.

Our staff have been on site assessing the damage and work is now underway, with the support of volunteers, to repair fencing affected by the fire. Recovery will take time, and our focus is now on supporting the site's restoration and recovery.

We would like to thank everyone who has been in touch with messages of support and offers of help. The care people have shown for this special place has been greatly appreciated.

We ask the public to continue avoiding the affected area while work continues.
