Advocacy and Engagement Administrative Volunteer
Location:
- Beechcroft House, Vicarage Lane, Curdridge, Southampton, SO32 2DP
- Testwood Lakes, Swanwick Lakes or Blashford Lakes (Our Education Centres) or
- Remote
We are happy to be flexible about the volunteer location based on your location and travel availability, but would expect a regular pattern/volunteer schedule and locations to be agreed.
Times, days and frequency we'd like you to be available: 2 half days / 1 full day, Monday - Friday per person appointed (we have 3 positions available)
Purpose of role:
Provide essential administrative support to the Advocacy and Engagement Teams, ensuring the Trust can continue to advocate for nature, campaign around key issues and engage people to support wilder communities, champions, campaigners and change-makers.
Our vision is to secure the recovery of our natural world by expanding protected and connected spaces and mobilizing local communities.
Tasks involved:
- Database Management: Updating and organising spreadsheets, entering information into databases, filing documents, recording survey results, petition signatures, actions taken during campaigns/ initiatives using our CRM and CAN App
- Program Support: Preparing materials, assembling information packets, and organising supplies for workshops and educational events.
- Communication: Answering inquiries via email and phone and corresponding with supporters.
- Correspondence: Support drafting, scheduling and sending standard letters, responses, bulk emails/ newsletters.
- General Administration: Handling filing, scanning, photocopying, and data entry.
- Event Coordination: Assisting with scheduling, booking venues, and tracking RSVPs for advocacy/ engagement activities.
- Basic Research: Gathering contact information for local groups, stakeholders, lawmakers, or community organisations.
Skills and abilities needed:
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Writing and communication skills
- Comfort using or learning CRM software to track community engagement and manage contact lists.
- Virtual Collaboration: Familiarity with online meeting platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams
- Capability to gather information on advocacy, education or engagement topics to support the team
- Happy to work remotely or in an office environment
- Attention to detail and good organisational skills
