Ready to get your eyes and ears wide open for the Wildlife Trust’s biggest ever Citizen Science initiative to date? Whether you're a local resident or part of a community, school, or organisation across Hampshire & Isle of Wight, this year’s project is all about YOU. Nature reserves aren’t the only areas in Hampshire and Isle of Wight full of life. By becoming one of our Citizen Scientists, you’ll help us record and map the species around you, from your home to local park, using Survey123, a tool helping you log what you find. From hedgehogs, red squirrels to ladybugs and bumblebees, we want to hear about them.
I’m Eloise Jenninger, your Community Ecologist for the summer who will support you in this exciting project and in other environmental community initiatives. With an academic background in Ecology and experience working with community groups, connecting people with nature in meaningful ways is what interests me most. My previous experience spans organisations such as Greenspace in Durham and Wycombe Refugee Partnership in Buckinghamshire. Whether it’s for advice or support on carrying out baseline, bat or chalk stream surveys, habitat management or restoration, analysing data, mapping, or practical work, all things technical, I’m here to help you. Tackling the Climate and Biodiversity crises from a policy and grassroot level are equally important, so we want to support your environmental projects.
