Feeling inspired by our splendid chalk streams? You could be a winner in our new Tales from the Riverbank Photography Competition.

For centuries our local chalk streams have been a source of inspiration for residents and visitors alike. Many have expressed their interactions with the landscape through creativity, while others are still waiting for their stories to be told.

Tales from the Riverbank is a project that's showcasing and continuing the rich creative tradition around these special habitats. It forms part of the Watercress and Winterbournes Landscape Partnership Scheme, which is caring for and celebrating seven local chalk streams.

Our new Tales from the Riverbank Photography Competition is seeking photos that capture the unique qualities of these spaces and their communities. If you're a Hampshire resident with photos of the scheme area, you could win up to £75 of photography gift vouchers!

There are four main categories that you can enter: Heritage, Landscape, People, and Wildlife. Bonus Community Choice and Young Photographer prizes are also up for grabs, and prize-winning entries will be considered for inclusion in a travelling exhibition.

While the current Covid-19 restrictions are in place, please don't head out just for taking photos. But why not take a camera on your daily exercise or make a note of places to visit later on? The competition closes on 31st August 2021, so you have plenty of time to get snapping (please note this has changed from 30th June due to the impact of Covid restrictions, more detail is available at the link below).
