About the event
Each summer, our Marine Team and an army of volunteers carry out walkover surveys of the Solent's shores, collecting biodiversity data on all the living marine species we can find.
This year we trialled iNaturalist as a data collection tool and, for our first Winter Talk of the season, we are bringing you a big round-up of everything we logged. From the iconic Solent species to rare and unexpected finds!
Join us to discover just how diverse the marine life living in the Solent is and find out how you could get involved in this work next year.
This event forms part of our engagement work for the Solent Seascape Project, an innovative marine project supported by the Endangered Landscapes and Seascapes Programme and East Head Impact. The project is about restoring four of the Solent’s most important habitats: seagrass meadows, oyster reefs, saltmarsh and seabird nesting habitats.
