About the event

Come for a walk around Baffins Pond, meeting Portsmouth's bats together with Sophie, our Community Ecologist Intern, at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.

You will learn about bats and how to identify different species by listening to their echolocation calls with bat detectors (bat detectors provided).

This event is suitable for beginners of all ages, although children must be accompanied by an adult.

Spaces are limited, booking is essential.

 

Ticket Options:

We suggest a contribution of £5 per person, which helps us cover the costs of running this event. To help make this event accessible to everyone, we also offer £2.50 and £1 tickets for those who may find the full price difficult to afford. Please choose the ticket option that feels right for you. All attendees will enjoy the same experience, whatever ticket price they select.

Getting there

Limited free public car park (30 spaces) is located on Tangiers Road with direct access into the park. Local bus routes 13 and 14 with services to and from central Portsmouth and Southsea. Racking for bicycles provided at the library. Please ensure you leave enough time before the event to park and reach the meeting point.

What to bring

Please wear warm, layered clothing and sturdy footwear (long sleeves and long trousers advised). A head torch or torch (preferably with a red-light setting to disturb the bats less). Sorry, no dogs (except service dogs).
