About the event

We will be dipping in the river to see what wildlife we can find in and around this area of the Upper Test.  Event run by the Watercress and Winterbournes project – see https://www.hiwwt.org.uk/watercress-and-winterbournes for more info about the initiative.

This is a wildlife watch event for children aged 5-15 years. Children must be accompanied by adults.

Mobility

We will be parking in a public car park and then walking down to Flashetts for the river dipping activities.

What to bring

Please bring binoculars if you have them and dress appropriately for the weather and activity. 

Children (and adults!) will need to wear wellington boots, water shoes or old trainers they don’t mind getting wet. Flip flops and sliders are not suitable for river dipping as they may float off downstream!

Please bring a change of socks and shoes for the children afterwards, if they enjoy their time by the river they are likely to get wet!
