If you’re thinking about writing your Will, could you invest in a wilder future?

If you’re thinking about writing your Will, could you invest in a wilder future?

Thinking about writing your Will? We know your thoughts will turn to loved ones, but once they are taken care of you may also consider what you want for our local environment.

If this is the case, you might consider including a gift to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.

Why not make use of our October Will writing offer?

A number of local solicitors are offering free or discounted Will writing services this autumn. Footner & Ewing LLP Solicitors in Totton, Forest Edge and Meesons Solicitors in Ringwood, and Wheelers Solicitors in Newport on the Isle of Wight are all participating in the offer.

Gifts have enabled the Trust to purchase land, continue vital conservation of wildlife, and empower local people with the skills and resources needed to be a champion for nature both on and off nature reserves. Through investing in a wilder future we will ensure our beautiful local wild spaces, and the wildlife that depends on them, are protected for future generations.

A gift left in the Will of Miss Patricia James, a supporter who lived in Winchester, was instrumental in the Trust’s purchase Hockley Meadows Farm in the heart of the Itchen Valley. The farm contains wildlife-rich water meadows and supports species such as water voles, spotted flycatchers and marsh marigolds. This kind gift created a living tribute which will last long into the future.

Similarly, Cathleen Cooper, who lived on the Isle of Wight, left the Trust a kind gift in her Will. Cathleen was passionate about birds and butterflies, particularly the Glanville fritillary. Cathleen’s gift helped the Trust purchase Sandown Meadows nature reserve on the Isle of Wight. This special site is now a key part of a growing number of wildlife sites along the Eastern Yar valley. Together, they create a joined up network of habitats for wildlife.

Every day Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers work hard to protect wildlife and wild places - now and for the future. Any gift you are able to make, whatever the size, would make a meaningful difference to that future.
