  • Can you help the Wildlife Trust find more members?

    As a charity, the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust is always striving to increase membership to help support its essential conservation work protecting wildlife and inspiring people across the two counties. But only just over 1% of the population of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are currently members of the Wildlife Trust, when trusts in neighbouring counties have almost 3%.

  • Calls for better protection for the Itchen

    The River Itchen is protected by EU law as it is considered to be one of the best examples of a chalk river in Europe. But the water quality of the Itchen, and the wildlife communities it supports, are under real threat from significant levels of phosphorus being discharged into it. The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust is calling for meaningful controls to be introduced before iconic chalk river species such as water crowfoot, Atlantic salmon and the highly endangered white-clawed crayfish are irretrievably lost.
