Tales from the Riverbank Poetry Competition

In 2024, we asked local young people to get inspired by the wild world of chalk streams, with the Tales from the Riverbank Poetry Competition. Sixteen poets aged 7-17 were awarded prizes and celebrated in a poetry anthology. This competition was part of the Watercress and Winterbournes Landscape Partnership Scheme.

Rivers have inspired the written word for centuries, and in June 2024 we continued this rich tradition. The Tales from the Riverbank Literature Festival welcomed amazing authors from across the country, and encouraged local people to explore their own creativity. This festival was part of the Watercress and Winterbournes Landscape Partnership Scheme.
