Thank you for your donation
Our work over the past 60 years has protected some of the most important places for nature throughout our two counties.
In 1961 the Trust was formed with 335 members and little over £300 to our name. A lot has changed for wildlife and in the field of conservation over the last 60 years, and so much of what we have achieved is thanks to people like you – our members and supporters.
In the last year alone, our team has seen some fantastic wins for wildlife including:
• The most successful year for breeding lapwing on the Testwood Lakes nature reserve.
• Orchids flourished on many of our chalk grassland sites this spring and summer thanks to careful management.
• Water voles have continued to do well at St Clair’s Meadow nature reserve and are now spreading into adjacent habitats along the river.
• Newchurch Moors nature reserve was declared nationally important for dragonflies (the first site on the Island to receive this designation) after scarce chaser dragonflies were confirmed breeding there.
It is only thanks to the support of people like you that we are here today, celebrating our 60th Anniversary, motivated to continue doing everything we can to put nature into recovery. Together we can create a wilder future.
To help us celebrate, you can now put a pin in our interactive 60th Anniversary map and show support for your favourite nature reserve. You’ll find the form at the bottom of this page.
Your donation payment has been completed securely by Stripe and you will shortly receive an email acknowledgement as official receipt, along with an auto generated Thank you letter from us. It is only with the help of our supporters that we can continue to protect the wildlife and wild places of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. If you have any questions about your donation, or the wider work of the Trust, please contact us on fundraising@hiwwt.org.uk or call us on 01489 774400.
