Spread the word about marine wildlife and inspire others to take action, as part of our Secrets of the Solent project.

This role involves using a range of methods to raise awareness and appreciation of the Solent’s people and wildlife. You’ll reach out to local communities through events, shows, and social media, gathering fascinating facts and inspiring stories to share with others.

This role is part of our Heritage Lottery funded-project Secrets of the Solent, which is celebrating the amazing wildlife and people that share the Solent’s coast and waters. Becoming a Marine Champion is a great way to support this brilliant project while also gaining new skills and wildlife knowledge.

You don’t need any particular background or experience for this role, just a passion for wildlife and a love for the Solent environment. You’ll receive full training to prepare you, and ongoing support from the project team. Depending on what activities you’re involved with, we might also ask you to undergo a DBS check.
