Wildlife is the real winner in new lottery
16 July 2012
The first winners of Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust’s local Wildlife Lottery have been announced. Prizes in the first two draws have totalled over £400, but crucially the Wildlife Lottery has raised over £500 for local wildlife so far.
Launched in June, the Wildlife Lottery is a fun way to support your local Wildlife Trust and have a chance of winning a monthly cash prize at the same time. Each monthly entry costs just £1.
Most charities receive only 20p-40p for every £1 entry in a lottery, but the great news is that in the Wildlife Lottery, the proportion is unusually high; 60p in every £1 goes directly to the Wildlife Trust. This helps to fund the conservation of rare and threatened habitats across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight – so wildlife is a real Wildlife Lottery winner.
Prize money is set to increase as more players join. Thirteen winners are selected every month, with several cash prizes available including a jackpot of up to £1,000. With a maximum of only 5,000 entries in each draw, your chance of winning the Wildlife Lottery is much greater than in many other, similar schemes.
Wildlife Lottery entries are payable by Direct Debit. To start playing, simply email your name and phone number to wildlifelottery@hwt.org.uk.
